“Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength” – S. Freud
Life can be very challenging and taking the first step into counselling can be one of the most difficult choices.
Whether you are looking for short term support or want to explore deeper issues on a more open-ended basis, my main goal is to offer you a warm, friendly, confidential, caring, non-judgmental and supportive space for you to safely explore your challenges at your own pace and to be truly listened to.
Through counselling, clients can re-discover their authentic-self, increase self-acceptance, self-worth and self-awareness, develop resilience and self-compassion, reduce anxiety or stress, improve their mood, feel more connected spiritually, unlock their potential and find the courage, confidence and inspiration to continue to thrive.
Counselling is not advice giving. I cannot tell you what to do and my role is not to ‘fix’, but I can help you look at issues from a different perspective and support you to find your own solutions and strategies to allow you to move forward.
About Me
I am a qualified counsellor based in Bedfordshire and I work nationally via video platforms, such as Zoom. As an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Accred), I am bound by BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means that I follow BACP principles and values, I have regular supervision and undertake CPD. In addition, I hold an up to date DBS Enhanced Certificate and professional insurance. I offer 50 minute one-to-one, open-ended sessions and I work with young people aged 18+ and adults.
Therapy is individual and it is ultimately tailored to your personal needs. My approach to counselling is Integrative with a humanistic ethos, which means I am able to apply a range of different techniques and approaches – including Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Existential – to suit your issues and preferred way of working. Confidentiality is extremely important when building an honest and trustworthy therapeutic relationship and it will be discussed during our initial consultation via telephone, where you will have an opportunity to ask questions and explore together the best way forward for you.
